Work in progress! Trying out this new style with... well. anime characters. it's that SPARKLE in their eyes that makes it anime-ish. but to be honest... when there's no sparkle they looked so scary and dead. poor gian.
his mouth is missing!

I've just finished the base sketches of my storyboard, hoping to animate them
to present by this Wednesday.

Right now though, I'm gonna post my completed painting (spanning over a
week I think) that's due this coming Monday

With flash:
 ...without flash.

Took me too long, and now it's taking too long to dry!!!
I'll probably buy that fast drying medium (if artfriend has! omg)
and then hopefully I can bring it down by monday :D

Other than that, toodles! this semester is coming to an end!
=_= so remind me again never to take all studio modules
in the future.

forgot to add this. some extreme poses for the lil gal
I actually am damn crazy about bunnies
so i took my current style and made the gal a bunny instead
(no, this idea will not stay, it's just for show!!)

see you can totally have hair accessories too XD

ah this one's kinda nonsensical

like LOL i Digresssseeedddd
PANDAAA
(because i AM one - *stares at mirror*)

and here's one more random series of sketches

outline styles, with color.
if i didn't color the subjects in, i couldn't do this, it'd be too weird.
personally, liking top-left and bottom-middle.
though i wish i had a combination of bottom-mid and bottom-right.
bottom right looks nice at some spots but others just look too dark. i don't know.

##edit##
i combined said two to get this better lined effect

having it bigger so that u can see better
so called, one of the scenes in the story?
the lil gal notices that other people were having the same balloons, that kinda thing
first start off with just the background. this was edited from a photo i just copied:

and then
we start drawing in the characters! note - i had to actually remove the original "subject" that was in the photo, and now i put in my own character. it felt kinda strange, yet i was compelled to do so
nice to actually just leave the characters in outline and not colored across the bg right?

and then after that i tried coloring but...
somehow it didn't work as well as i thought. maybe i should leave it in the 2nd stage, characters uncolored.
actually maybe i should do that for my entire film.

What do you think?

Updated the background with a few... buildings.
The buildings were actually filtered and photoshopped from an actual photo
(that totally doesn't look like that by the way, I dunno why I ended up with that)

I'll be experimenting with different buildings in the background.

And also, I added some texture to this particular edit.

###Edit 2###
I don't think this works as well as the other did,
I donno. What do you think?

##Edit 3##
as suggested by dear Jiahui, i yellow filtered the buildings in the 1st design
I donno if i should remove all the weird white spaces around (except for right upper)
Argh. This one is driving me insane

oh woooww i discovered something old that i did (well, okie, at least 3 years ago)
back then I really spammed this style of drawing.
I think I kinda miss it, actually.

...hey i AM 23 this year, okie.
(and already hobbling like an old woman, gah)
It's almost like i've done two different drawing and coloring styles already!
this was the first that i experimented with. Super bright colors and not much shadows

Then i kinda digressed (considered digressed?)
and broke into something with more thought behind:

Maybe I can achieve something inbetween. But would that wreck the feeling?
I must try soon. Time is running out

2011/04/01

been also spamming home decor books and shops for an inspiration for my gal's home
(i do think the story's gonna be taking place in the house) so...

i came across this:

it's a seashell thing! (nautical)
the best part is, i'm so wishing for a home like that. except maybe it don't have to be shell,
can it be some big big bubble?

2011/03/31

i am going to commence spamming of photos.

when cari from real life

i just happened to see elephant in this one XD

where kids are just the cutest things sometimes (check out the bandage on the girl's elbow)

it is also a dream of mine to be able to do this on either my walls or some of my furniture, someday

funnily enough, this illus below actually kinda depicted what i dreamt of a few years ago.
i have mentioned this in some previous blog posts at my personal page

now look at that! i can't even fathom how to go about drawing something like that

AND

AND I THINK THIS IS IMPT:

I HAD this idea in mind of my lil girl with a leash on her elephant (except that the elephant is ALIVE of course) but yea, something along the size comparison of this.

Now that image is stuck in my head.

YOU SEE:

one last image for this post,
did I mention i (am crazy / insane / hyper) ADORE rabbits?

*kisses*
